Schwedt/Oder is located 80 km northeast of Berlin along the Hohensaaten-Friedrichsthaler- Wasserstraße Canal with a frontier crossing point to Poland.

Schwedt/Oder is the starting point for a visit to the Unteres Odertal National Park, one of the last close-to-nature riverside meadow regions of Central Europe.
